ARSENAL GO 9 POINTS CLEAR AFTER MANCHESTER CITY DROP POINTS IN PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE RACE
The Premier League title race may have taken a decisive turn this weekend.
Arsenal strengthened their grip at the top of the table after securing a late 2–0 victory against Everton, while defending champions Manchester City dropped points in a 1–1 draw with West Ham United.
The results dramatically shifted the Premier League title race, pushing Arsenal 9 points clear at the top of the table and putting Mikel Arteta’s side in a commanding position as the season enters its final stretch.
For Arsenal fans, it was the kind of weekend that can define a title race.
Arsenal Leave It Late Against Everton
Arsenal’s match against Everton at the Emirates Stadium was far from straightforward.
Everton arrived with a clear defensive plan and executed it well for most of the game. Arsenal dominated possession but struggled to break down a disciplined defensive block that refused to leave spaces behind.
For long stretches, the game looked like it might end in frustration for the league leaders.
Then the breakthrough finally arrived.
In the 89th minute, substitute Viktor Gyokeres found the back of the net to give Arsenal the lead and send the Emirates crowd into celebration.
Just moments later, Max Dowman, one of Arsenal’s brightest young talents, sealed the victory during stoppage time with a quick counter-attack finish that made it 2–0.
Two late goals.
Three important points.
And suddenly the pressure shifted to Manchester City.
Manchester City Slip Against West Ham
While Arsenal celebrated in North London, Manchester City were fighting to keep pace in the Premier League title race against West Ham United.
Pep Guardiola’s side started well and took the lead through Bernardo Silva, who calmly finished after a strong attacking move.
But West Ham refused to back down.
The hosts equalized through Konstantinos Mavropanos, who powered a header into the net from a corner kick to make it 1–1.
City pushed for a late winner and created several chances, but West Ham held firm until the final whistle.
The draw means Manchester City dropped two crucial points, allowing Arsenal to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League standings.
Arsenal Now Hold a 9-Point Advantage
With the latest round of results complete, Arsenal now sit 9 points ahead of Manchester City in the Premier League table.
That kind of gap is massive at this stage of the season.
While City still have the quality and experience to mount a comeback, the reality is that Arsenal are now firmly in control of their own destiny.
Every match from here on becomes another step closer to the title.
A Potential Turning Point in the Season
Title races are often decided by moments like this.
One team wins a difficult game.
The rival drops points.
And suddenly the gap becomes difficult to close.
For Arsenal, this weekend could prove to be one of those defining moments. After years of rebuilding and coming close in previous seasons, the Gunners now have a real opportunity to finish the job.
If they maintain their current form, Arsenal could be on their way to lifting their first Premier League title in two decades.
And after this weekend’s results, that dream suddenly looks much more realistic.
